Bass Tracker w/ merc bigfoot motor
Curious as to how many of you guys that have bass trackers have a Mercury bigfoot motor on it or have seen trackers with one on it. I have an 06 pt 175se with a 60hp merc bigfoot and was told when i bought it that the motor wasnt made for speed, it was made to push heavy loads due to the oversized gear box on it. I have hit 44mph (speedo), it really launches this boat. My boat is the only one i have ever seen with the motor on it.

I just bought a 2001 50 horse 4/stroke Bigfoot for my 1979 16 foot Bass Tracker flat bottom and I'm having a problem with top-end. I'm only getting 23 mph but only getting 4000 rpm on my tach which should be at about 6000. I'm running a 13.75/ 15 pitch prop.
What size prop are you running? I think I need to go to a 11 or 12 pitch. If you'd like give me a call at 810-955-1855 and we can share info on these bigfoot motors. I need an idea on size real soon, spring is here and I need get out there fishing. Thanks: Dave Greanya Flint, Michigan Last edited by greani1; 04-16-11 at 05:49 PM. |
