Default Couple from this morning...

Nothing spectacular, however, I had a big first. I got my first bass on a beetle spin! It wasn't too big, but on the cast before I had a much smaller bass catch it and then throw the hook. He was actually the first bass I have had go for a beetle spin, but the first one I caught is below.

You might notice that the clip came undone. I was so lucky!

Got this one on a T-rigged creme. Love that pattern.

Good stuff man , i would just tie right on to the beetle spin and forget the clip it would save some trouble

Thanks!

It was the clip that holds the jig on the spinner that came loose. Not the duo-lock. I'm just too lazy to tie and tie and tie...

I'm working on number two... lol

I actually have two other rods, but I dislike them. The are big heavy spinning rods. They are bass rods, but bigger and stiffer than I like. That is why I am looking for a new rod, plus I want a caster for flipping.

I hear that man , you should try giving the heavier rod a shot though , they would prob go good with some of your heavier baits that need some stiffness to get that solid hookset like jigs.

I am thinking about giving one a go. It is a 6-6 medium action Zebco Genesis with a Shimano FX 2500 FB reel. I pulled the rod out of a lake last year as a snag. It looked pretty bad at first, the reel was trashed, but after I cleaned it up it looked great. I have used it to bring in small sharks at the pier, so I know the water didn't effect it.

The rod is huge compared to my tiny 5 foot UL, and the reel feels like a monster. At the pier I don't notice it, it's actually quite small for that. But when bass fishing it feels huge to me.

When you pull a few empty lines with open clips and think about what might have been, retying doesn't seem so bad hahahaha. Nice haul John. I saw the creme worms the other day at Walmart. I would buy some, but I just have this image "Harry N' Charlie" from Bassmasters put in my head as youngin' and I just can't do it.

Nice fish John! I hear you on the snap swivels. I always use em. In my boat I can really only carry 2 rods without tangling em up, and only 1 in the yak.

Got to thinkin about the bettle spin. I caught a few bass on em back in the day but not a lot.
Don't even have one in my tackle bag anymore. Probably should grab a few, they're cheap.

Thanks!

I hear that. When I think about carrying more than one rod I start to think about other things I could be doing...

$0.96 at my local Wally World. They are a bit more at places like GM and Dick's.
