Default line i d

i know this has been talk about. but found good way to id what lb. test and type of line on rod and reel. got electric wire marking tape it come in both numbers and letters. it is adhesive and on spool. all you do is take of the no. you need and wrap around the base of your rod above the handle ie. 15m or 20f meanins i5lb mono. peels off easy when you want to change line. you can get it a any electrical supply house or lowes it comes on a red spool with no 0 thur 9 and letters a thur z really cheap and one spool will last a life ime

It really isn't difficult, I only use a small mix of line and tests.

5 spinning rods - all have 20# Suffix braid (hit the EASY Button)

3 worm rods - all have 15# co-polymer (smack the EASY Button again)

3 spinnerbait rods - 2 are MH and have 15# co-polymer, 1 Med has 10# co-poly (I still think I can hit the EASY button again)

4 crankbait rods - 3 are Med and spooled with 12# flurocarbon, 1 MH has 15# flurocarbon (spank the EASY button)

1 frog rod - 50# braid, too dang easy.

2 jig rods - both have 17# co-polymer (EASY button)

Braid I only use two sizes. Flurocarbon only on the crankbait rods in two weights. Everything else is co-polymer in 3 tests - basically determined by the power of the rod.
Now I'll tell you how I cheat to make identification even easier. The co-ploy I color code. 10# is smoke, 15# is green, and 17# is clear. That's my system and it works very well for me.

doesn't sound too bad. I don't think I have 2 lines the same right now, lol.

one spinning reel has 15lb braid, one has 10lb. The new one is getting 10lb of a different brand. One casting reel has 20lb braid, one 30lb, and one 50lb. I've got a reel with 12lb FC, one with 12lb mono, and now one with 12lb P-line Floroclear. I've got one with 12lb Ande mono waiting for some 15-17lb P-line CXX. I guess I don't get an easy button

Cajun red? Someone that actually likes it amazing. I tried it ONCE, had it on my reels about 3 hours. When I came in for lunch I respooled every reel that had it on. It does, however make good backing.

Well, that video is interesting.....that is what I do. Someone last year asked me where I got that idea from. I told them I must have read it or saw it somewhere because I didn't think of it but I had no idea where I got it from. The only thing I do different is that I use small stickers that I get at office depot and I also write the brand of the line along with the weight and type of line on the sticker. I use several different brands of line because I am always trying something different. This system has worked well for me and the stickers stay on the reels very well.
