Broke my new rod.
Well, I've been using my newest spinning combo alot and I've had trouble with the two piece rod coming apart occasionally as I'm making a cast. Well the last time it did that it broke the rod right at the connection point.....I was able to clean the broken area with my pocket knife and refit the smaller rod section back in place, but about 6 casts later it broke again in the same area, and now there's no way of fitting the two back together, so I guess its junk and I'm back down to 2 rods. I suppose I shouldn't expect much from a cheap combo but it was all I could afford. I've never had a problem such as that with any other 2 piece rod I've ever owned.....Anyone else ever had issues like that with a 2 pc rod?

Micheal now is not the time for you to have rod challenges.
Not that anytime is good but I definitly think you deserve a break! Hope you don't mind but today's candle's going in your name not your cousins.

Sorry to hear about your rod. I did have a 2 piece rod once that would occationally fly apart on the cast. It was an Ugly Stick. That was a long time ago, but it never broke on me. But I would imagine the possibility of it breaking is greater if it keeps flying apart. I had bought it to have as a pack rod. From then on, I've bought one section rods. Hope it's not long before your able to replace it.

I Gorilla glued my 2-piece rod. Never came apart after that. Didn't want it to.

I'm actually trying to move in the direction of having 2 piece and pack rods for my entire arsenal. It makes travel so much easier, and I have never had a significant problem like yours. It must be a defect in the rod. I have heard of people using electrical tape to stick their rod pieces together, I've just never found it necessary. On the whole, I can tell little difference between using a multi-piece rod and a 1 piece in performance or durability.
