Cool Just to Brag

This is what this specefic area is for (to brag), and i want all yall northeners to know why you should move down south. I thought i would rub it in a little .

I live in SC, right near the Georgia border (if you know where Augusta (Masters) is, im right across the river). That will give you a location for your mental picture.

Now for yall that have cabin fever and cant fish, ill set the dream for you. Setting: South USA, weather: mid to upper 70s, no ice, no snow, no rain.

Thats what the weather has been all week, high today is 79, unfortunately we have a cold front moving in tonight and i have a small tourney tomorrow . The high tomorrow is 64.

Just thought i would help yall dream of a non-white Christmas.

On that note: Yall have a safe and merry Christmas with your family. Cant wait to see all of yalls cool fishing presents. The new year is around the corner, time to start thinking about your fishing resolutions. I have really enjoyed starting to read these boards a lot more recently after being gone a while, thanks to you all. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Aiken, believe me when I say I require no further proof that you live in the South. You have completely exceeded your "yall"quota for the day. Please move on to other descriptive terms such as "his'n" and "yor'n" to fulfill your stereotyping needs.

I'm just kidding you. Trust me, I "only" have a Southern Indiana accent. But when I travel out West, they make fun of me like I'm Jethro Bodine or something.

Just so you don't feel "left out" at Dale Hollow when you are down "South", I PROMISE to make fun of you at every opportunity, of which I am sure there will be many. Scout's honor.

As for the warm weather Southern Dude - I hope you forget to put the seat on the post before you sit down come tournament morning........ good side of that (depending how you look at it) would be you won't fall overboard............. Yeah, it's getting cold here today.

Somewhat more akin to Appalachia than just south, just bring a big poke and have a thick hide.
Im sure you will do fine and have a nice time we aint et no northerners fer a long time.
All jokes aside dale hollow is an experience, just watch for copperheads.

Smile I Think I Covered Most of You (from the south anyway)

The South - You Gotta Love It

(This is not to offend yall folks from the South, as you my know just
about all our roots are from there, including mine. Further, to be honest,
I don't think the South can handle me)

Alabama

A group of Alabama friends went deer hunting and paired off in twos for
the day. That
night, one of the hunters returned alone, staggering under the weight
of an eight-point buck."Where's Henry?" the others asked. "Henry had a
stroke of some kind. He's a couple of miles back up the trail," the
successful hunter replied. "You left Henry laying out there and
carried the deer back?" they inquired. "A tough call," nodded the
hunter. "But I figured no one is going to steal Henry!"

Georgia

The owner of a golf course in Georgia was confused about paying an
invoice, so he decided to ask his secretary for some mathematical help.
He called her into his office and said, "You graduated from the
University of Georgia and I need some help. If I were
to give you $20,000, minus 14%, how much would you take off?" The
secretary thought a moment, and then replied, "Everything but my
earrings."

Louisiana

A senior at Louisiana was overheard saying .. "When the end of the world
comes, I hope to be in Louisiana ." When asked why, he replied, "He'd
rather be in Louisiana because everything happens in Louisiana 20 years
later than in the rest of the civilized world."

Mississippi

The young man from Mississippi came running into the store and said to
his buddy, "Bubba, somebody just stole your pickup truck from the
parking lot!" Bubba replied, "
Did you see who it was?" The young man answered, "I couldn't tell, but
I got the license number."

North Carolina

A man in North Carolina had a flat tire, pulled off on the side of the
road, and proceeded to put a bouquet of flowers in front of the car and
one behind it. Then he got back in the car to wait.. A passerby studied
the scene as he drove by and was so curious he turned around and went
back. He asked the fellow what the problem was. The man replied, "I
have a flat tire." The passerby asked, "But what's with the flowers?"
The man responded, "When you break down they tell you to put flares in
the front and flares in the back. I never did understand it neither."

Tennessee

A Tennessee State trooper pulled over a pickup on I-65. The trooper
asked, "Got any ID?" The driver replied, "Bout whut?"

Texas

The Sheriff pulled up next to the guy unloading garbage out of his
pick-up into the ditch. The Sheriff asked, "Why are you dumping garbage
in the ditch? > Don't you see that sign right over your head." "Yep",
he replied. "That's why I'm dumpin' it here, cause it says: > 'Fine For
Dumping Garbage'.."

You can say what you want about the South,

But you never hear of anyone retiring and moving North.

hahahaha, it's all good aiken. i have met these yanks. they alright for northern folk. a little on the dull side maybe, some are as sharp as a bowling ball, hahaha!! but good hearted folk. and i understand what you mean by our "actscent" (yeah i spelled it wrong on purpose bruce). i was in chi town one time and folks found out i was from alabay..they said "you int he kkk?" i said yeah, what about it? (although i ain't really). then they just sort of slithered away. some asked me to just talk so they could listen to the way i talked.
had this uncle of my ex wifes, he was ALWAYS talking aobut how stupid and backward we were here. not getting paid much and so forth. i told him if it was so bad here, why did he retire in the south instead of staying up there. of ocurse as joedog stated, never hear of anyone retiring to the north. he said it was cheaper to live in the south and warmer and so forth. sometimes it got really annoying listening to him bager us southern folks. i told him too, in not a kind way either. started calling him a damn yankee. he never heard of that one. glad i ain't in that family no more.

i have met this young man, aiken. VERY nice fella too. we met at the classic in birmingham a few years ago. sure wish oyu could join us at the hollow man.

and ainken, nofarts a really great fella too. not oyur typical enginneer. real down to earth. now as for boogieman......well let's jsut say he's a "special" fella, BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! kidding, he a great friend. loads of fun to be around.
haven't met joedog......yet. but i think he is jsut snowblinded already and has a HUGE case of cabin fever. he is a cheesehead too. probably been around dem dairy cows a little too much. BWAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!

but you know how it is here, we are ALL about half a bubble off plumb. nice to be there too.

Being back up north now after living the last year down South let me just say that I hate it up here! The fishing is much better here, but it is a very short season. The people down South are more friendly than around here in Michigan; maybe just because I'm close to the city though and I think city folk are about the same everywhere. I really do feel like my quality of life goes from about a 9 on a scale of 1-10 down to about a 2 when winter comes. Doesn't matter quite so much this year because work is so busy that I don't have time for much else anyway.

1947 Mass-produced, low-cost window air conditioners become possible

Mass-produced, low-cost window air conditioners become possible as a result of innovations by engineer Henry Galson, who sets up production lines for a number of manufacturers. In 1947, 43,000 window air conditioners are sold in the United States. For the first time, many homeowners can enjoy air conditioning without having to buy a new home or renovate their heating system.

Without the above the South would be largely uninhabited
