2 new catfish PB's in 1 day

Went out to try a new boatramp on the Kansas River yesterday mainly with the goal of shooting some flying silver carp with my buddy. After a couple hours he had to leave because one of his kids got sick at school so I was on my own which makes driving the boat and shooting carp out of the question so I decided to do some fishing, turned out to be a great move. I had some carp in the boat so I was using them as cutbait. Both fish bottomed out my 50lb digital scale so not sure on the exact weight but they're both bigger than any flathead or blue I've ever caught before!

Anyone want to take a guess on the weights of these bruisers?
They were both CPR'd to hopefully grow bigger and visit me again another day.

I was also thinking ±70 on the blue, maybe 75. I'm gonna say 60+ on the flathead.

Yeah I was pretty worn out after catching both of those fish, no help, no gloves, no net. My hands are pretty chewed up from lip landing the flathead. I couldn't even begin to get my hand around the flatheads tail so that was my only option and right when she got to the bank she head shook again and the hook popped out so I had to do it fast or she was going to be gone. I didn't have anything but a 22" measuring board but I'm 6' tall and 215lbs to give you some reference.

blue maybe in the 55-60, and the flathead maybe 65, i have pulled some blues out the cape fear back when i was 18, close to that size weighin like 48 lbs, it all depends on girth anyway both of those in an outing is a hell of day man

DAYUM!!! Those are some huge cats! Congrats... you looked wiped out in both of the pics. I can only imagine what a cat that big fights like. I think I am doing good when I land a 8 or 10 lb. channel cat! Nothing like these beasts.

By golly them are some good fish! I really need to do me some cat fishing, if I can figure out how to get to one side of the river you bet I will. Got a tip from an old salt to use a big ol gob of crawlers with a slab of bacon on the hook. Hope to get me some!

By the way, I love the hat! Where'd ya gt it? lol

Thanks guys. I was exhausted after both fights. I actually had to just hold onto the flathead for a minute because I was too wiped to lift it onto the bank. The blue I was in the boat and I really wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get it into the boat by myself.
I've never been a big fan of nightcrawlers for big cats, attracts too many drum and small channels for my likings. Fresh cutbait or livebait has always seemed like the way to go for the big boys.
BB-it's a Bass Pro hat I got at the one close to home in Olathe, KS.

The blue looks to be about 54 and the flat or yellow as we call them is about 56.
Flats are hard to judge as it may be 60. Depends on how many small dogs it has eatin lately.

id rather sit with a 4 oz gill head and a 2 0z no rool, for 5 hours waiting for a 30 plus than site 5 hours with livers or crawlers and catch 10, 1-4 lbers
