2nd trip of the year
Well i went to guntersville lake with my nephew HAYDENBASSKID today. We launched at 6:00 am just as the sun was rising over the mountains on TOWN CREEK. Air temp was around 40 degrees, water temp 50 degrees. Nice right? WRONG! We threw everything but the ol crank telephone. NOTHING worked. But i did catch 9 TREEbass, nephew caught about 8 lunkerLOGS. Hahahaha, but we had a great time being out on the water and enjoying the day. It warmed up to close to 70 degrees, but we couldn't get a bite to save our lives. The kid got some very valuable exprience using the trolling motor. Whilest i took myself an hour nap, hehehe. Better to tell and show him how things work and let em go at it i think. He had a ball he said, felt really in control, which made me happier than anything i could have caught today. So it was a fantastic day. We'll be going more, and we are sure to catch some bass, so i ain't worried about that. I just enjoyed having my nephew with me on the water.

I feel your pain. Fishing was tough at Kentucky Lake this weekend. I caught 17 bass. Sounds like a great day....right? WRONG!!!! Not a great day when you are in a club tourney and they are all shorter than the 15 inch size limit. for the most part, they were between 14 inches and 14 7/8 inches long. If I hadn't been fishing a tourney, it would have been a great day.

Water temps should be up quickly. We had a jump of 17 degrees in two weeks on the hot side of Anna. Messed up my pre-spawn fish pattern. Found a few fish on beds. Wasn't prepared to site fish. And the ones we found were big and not eating!!!

TN BASSIN, town creek is on guntersville lake. The cold front moved through yesterday and today, temps this morning were around freezing, with rain, sleet and snow. High got to about 40 here. But the waring trend should start tomorrow. Highs are supposed to get up to around 70. So...i am thinking in 2 weeks the bass will be booming again.
