Just got in my new Cabo
I decided I needed an expensive spinning reel for some black fin tuna this summer. So I got a Quantim Cabo 40 and matched it to a St Croix 6.6 Med Premier Rod. I added a but cap and three quarters and it feels right.
I hope is has enough line to handle the job designated for it. I am going with Power Pro 20lb green moss line. I figure 175 yards will be needed. I have used the Cabos on reds up to 32 inches and false albicore so I am sure the drag will hold up. Love those gift cards as I would be too cheap to buy such a nice reel. The rod was 40.00 new at a flea market. Capt Mike

If you knew young Mike, you would know how important that last sentence is. Whenever I read that he bought something new, I HAVE to see what it was. Good thing he had the gift card, he would have had to forgo those fancy coffee beverages.

dave likes the triple venti white mocha BTW...
I muchly prefer a Cubano with three cubes. Or a triple venti mocha... Back to subject.. The Cabo comes with a tool that is very clever. Reel looks like this.. Smooth a silk.. Capt Mike
