Question Favorite fishing situations

F&G's cold water post got me thinking-If you had your druthers, what would be your favorite fishing situation or scenario? For example- I'd have to say 50-55F slightly stained water, series of steep ledges near flats, throwing a suspending jerk bait.

My favorite is after a heavy rain or during a light rain throwing a medium diving crank , a darker colored spinner along the bank or anything topwater for that matter , ahhhh if it was only like that all the time

100 + degrees with 89% humiity. Dead Low tide and rich fly fishing clients on board during the golden hour.

A good supply of deet, Waldorf Bugs and iced water.

Salt crystals on the nape of my neck and bass thumb..

In the summer time, at dusk, everything has just settled down, the sun has just about set, on the river, throwing some type of frog around lily pads or grass. Some of the surface explosions just can't be described by words.

Small pond over the hill in woods with some cattails along one edge and plenty of fallen timber mixed in with weeds. Dark greenish water and a nice cool crisp fall evening after a warm day with some leaves just starting to drop and making everything smell slightly spicy. Wow I think I just made myself excited.....C'mon fall

I will not fish on Christmas day nor Ground hogs day, any other available day is good as long the weather isn’t hurricane conditions.

OWWWW good point. I still love fall though and it's gonna happen anyway. I will embrace it. One bonus is I found a couple of power plant resevoirs out here where areas stay 65 year round. Full of dinks but it sure beats shoveling snow.

water temps in the 60's is fine.. it moves the bass super tight to the struture. only two rods are in use a crankbait and a spinner bait..

My favorite scenario, is anyone with me catching fish.... unlike today, spent 7 hrs. on the water, not one %$%^&^*&^&#$#@#$%#$% bass in the boat. 95 degree heat. water 88 degrees.... bass almost jumping in the boat, but wont bite a hook......#$@^%@^@%#$%$^^%%^#%^@# << had to take a breath $@%$^^#&^%^#^&@^@*(%)*^(_)(+(%&*#^&#%.

There now I feel a bit better.

pre-spawn to spawn and fairly early spring. air temps in the mid 70's and water temps approaching low 60's. that fresh spring smell in the air and everything is green again. a few bass are locked on beds but the majority are cruising and eating everything and anything in sight. along with what is probably the best fishing of the year you also have that new begining that each spring brings. at this time of the year fish can be caught on just about any technique there is and they are very aggresive. find the right spot at the right time and it can be really fast and furious. that's mine.

I like it 80+ degrees, full sun and dead calm water and a huge section of red tasseled milfoil, so thick a raccoon can walk across the top of it .

In saying that, I rarely get the opportunity to fish that kind of condition, but I feel like I have died and went to heaven when I do get those fishing conditions in sync.

i was gonna mention a jig but i didn't want to start rambling on. but in my ideal situation i would be throwing a jig a lot. as the water warms and the crawdads start sticking their noses out for their winter haunts.......this is a great time to be throwing my bread and butter (a jig).

Sorry JB, I forgot to mention a 1 oz. grassmaster jig/ shortened Gene Larew salt craw. 30 lb tuf line, Shimano Metanium XT reel, Gary Yamamoto tournament flipping stick, reel grips, Lindy hook keeper. I can't get any more specific than that.

Getting permission from the wife on Friday night to go fishing all day Saturday. Loading the boat up onto the car at 11 pm. Getting up early, taking that quick shower, and making the drive to whichever lake I chose to fish that Saturday. Stepping out onto the boat while the sun is still down. Rowing to a dead stump or tree overhang at the lake and making that first cast with the hopes of telling the story of how my first 5 pound hawg pulled me all over the lake before I landed her.
