WASHINGTON — No fish can escape mercury pollution. That's the take-home message from a federal study of mercury contamination released Wednesday that tested fish from nearly 300 streams across the country.


The toxic substance was found in every fish sampled, a finding that underscores how widespread mercury pollution has become.

That's funny how they threw out the whole "buying and selling credits" idea when it was Bush's, but now they LOVE it for CO2.

Folks...if you hate mercury, you better get to loving it, if you are one of the people pushing for compact fluorescents everywhere. I have done extensive research that shows while coal-fired plants do produce mercury, a good portion of electricity production is done with natural gas. which produces no mercury whatsoever (kinda odd how the greenies are fighting natural gas power plants, huh?).

Compact fluorescents produce mercury no matter what source of power is used.

It's a good read, anyways, Stew. We both would like to see less mercury pollution, regardless of our political affiliation.
