Default fathers day fishing story

me and dad went to this big pond owned by a church tonight that we've never fished, this place has a ton of downed timber in the water but they wont allow boats on it so its impossible to get to the spots that look really good. anyway dad stays by the entrance and was using a baby brush hog. i went to the other end closer to some timber and used a wacky worm. i caught 5 in a row, bout 1.5 lbs each. i could tell he was a little frustrated as he hadnt got a nibble so i ask what hes usin. he yells back says he wants to use a ribbit frog of mine, i go over and rig him up a frog and a wacky rig, show him how to use them and away i go to a different spot on the pond. next thing i know hes yelling with this scared voice saying "JUSTIN I CAUGHT A SNAKE!!" i look over and hes walking backwards holding a rod with a 2ft water snake dangling off the lure hahahahaha. my dad turns 62 next month and isnt afraid of much but boy he was terrified today. as i get ready to run over there it falls off and goes back in the water. needless to say he moved spots, he caught one on the wacky then we headed out for the day. we laughed the whole way home and i told him that hes probably got the best fishin story ive heard in a while. had to share this with u guys! hope u all had a good fathers day!

I think it is admirable that your dad still had the rod in his hands. Had a snake been on mine, I would have thrown it half way across the lake and then kicked up a cloud of dust as my short little legs carried me far, far away.

Thanks for sharing. I didn't get a chance to fish on Father's Day, but I did the day before for a Pre-Father's Fishing Day and actually got to go fishing twice in one day.
