The Rapala DT series are the main stay of my crankbaits. My favorites are DT-10 & 16s, as I like to work them on the bottom along weed lines bumping and hitting everything in site.

dt3 the flat sided bait is the biggest pos in the dt series. the lip will break if ya look at it funny..the dt 6 though has its own lip problems but is a much better bait..

No such problems with the DT10s & 16s. the lips are just to big and tough.

Don't stay away from a potential bassy-area because you don't want to break a lure. Every fishermen breaks lures. We all hate it... but it happens... If you aren't losing a lure here and there, you're doing something wrong.

I've done very well using the DT-6 cranks. My best success come from fishing it over and through weedbeds in about 10-12 foot of water.

yea, i guess your right, if i break it and it works well for me , might as well go buy another. do you get snagged and hung up constantly when working it along the bottom?

Almost never, getting hung up in cover is a big myth about cranks, they are actually virtually weedless and snagless unless you are throwing them into something really nasty.

i tried lake bartlet in southern arizona today with the dtf-3 and dt-6 off of the shore and in boat docks for like an hour...got nothing. i was just cranking them in. bad day, or did i do something wrong? i know an arizona largemouth is more than capable of taking those two lures...........

your lures were fine, but your methods may or may not have been. Were you bumping them off of the bottom or structure, and were you at the same depth as the fish. Please be specific as to how you fished them, as most of us on here have various ways of catching fish on a crank, but I would have to guess none to very few just run them at constant speed in open water.

I sometimes just reel them at constant speed... When I'm trying to find fish, that's what I do sometimes. But when I KNOW the fish are there, I do various techniques... I'm not that big of a crankbait fisherman though... I'm pretty sure zooker is though

well, i was running the dt-6 in open water off a big boat dock that went pretty far out. i casted to these bouys that were out in open water thinking that something might hang around them...maybe bluegills...( the bouys went underwater too, they were kinda like poles...i think they might've gone down like 6 feet) as for the dtf-3 it was bumping bottom because i fished it off of the shore... it was also in a small weedbed that had some scattered boulders submerged.

Right-On B-i-g. Plus that's what lure retriever's are for
