There's a store just outside of Richmond VA called Green Top. It's a good fishing and hunting store that usually has a good variety of new equipment and tackle. It also carries a lot of the smaller companies baits that you won't find at the big name stores.
So BPS and Gander Mt. decide that they're going to open stores very close to Green Top. Well guess what? Gander Mt. just couldn't compete and closed it's doors. So what did Green Top do? Yep moved on in and took over. Why is that important? Because they're having a grand opening (well they've already opened) coming up on the 18th and they are having some good sales......Monkey Attack!!!

Abu Veritas rods will be $39.99......'nuff said.

We don't have Green Top here but it looks like they have a decent selection and decent prices. $5 shipping on internet orders is pretty reasonable too.

Sorry I got the rod wrong. It's the Vendetta that's $39.99 and not the Veritas. I didn't have the flyer with me.

The reason you spoke with a knowledgeable person is because they hire hunters and fishermen.

Green Top only has one store. It's not a chain.

Darn, I was just going to order a couple bait casters. I have 2 of the Veritas spinning rods and really like them.

The Veritas are on sale right now for $79.99. Who knows they may discount them a little more as well. I may head down to check it out this weekend. I'll check and see.

The Vendetta's have been redesigned, I saw the "Vendetta 2" at DoI this evening. I'm sure it's basically the same rod, the colors and maybe some of the trim pieces are a little different. I'm sure that's why they are closing out the old ones.

The reel seat on the Veritas I had was poorly designed. Thought it might be a fluke but after reading some reviews and comments from other forums and blogs it seems to be a common complaint. I did like the blank pretty good though for the money.

Rusty, is that on the casting rods? I have 2 spinning rods and have not encountered any problems.
