Best Bass Bait
I've been reading, and reading, and reading all the questions that are constantly asked here on this and other sites. "What's the best bait"? The answer to that question is angler specific. IE everyone has there go to bait. If you want to find out what the best bait for you is, then fish as much as you can and find the bait that you always seem to catch fish with. At times crankbaits might be the best producing, or spinnerbaits, or plastics. You will learn much by using the different baits, with different presentations, but sooner rather than later you will determine what bait "YOU have the most confidence in!" I believe colors make a difference "SOMETIMES", however the presentation, and location are much more important IMO. THERE IS NO BEST, there's only your confidence bait. You will fish it harder, and more often than any other bait, so you will learn more techniques and presentations with the same bait to catch bass. If you fished every bait with the same confidence you have in your own favorite, then I assure you, you would have confidence in all the baits and techniques. Time on the water is so important that it will teach you more than anything else. And don't just cast and retreive. Listen, look, observe all the details of the entire area you are in. The key to your success depends on your ability to adapt to your surroundings, and conditions. I'm not a bass pro by any means, but I've spent enough time fishing to know that every bait can catch a bass at some point, but if you pay attention more to location, and presentation, along with conditions, your successes will outweigh your failures.

confidence bait
i agree. the "go to" or confidence bait is the bait that will catch fish for you. (in this case, me). i have about four baits i rely on, and i fish each one in a particular way. the rest i just throw out there and hope for the
best. lizards has a point about the confidence bait. |

Just take one certain plastic to the lake and nothing else, if you fish it long enough it will catch something and be you're "go to bait"
