Look good but I'd say you've been looking at the lava lamp a little too much while painting them.

Those are amazing. Just as a question how hard is it to airbrush like that. Does it takes years or can someone learn fast if they are artisitcly talented.

Hey guys, here's some answeres to your questions: some of you asked me how hard it is to paint these and what I use to paint them...it's fairly simple, I buy most of my blanks from Barlow's Tackle, the bills seem to hold up better than others over time..Jann's craft is another place to try as well

It doesn't take long to learn just be patient, I started about 2 years ago and have more recently learned how to dial in my brushes to get them to work for these type of applications...I can paint an entire crank from start to finish in about an hour

The key tools that I use most are 1) air compressor..(I use a husky scout) you don't need an airbrush specific compressor, just be sure to get a regulator with a vapor trap) The vapor trap will take water out of the air so it won't screw up your paint job...

2) An Iwata gravity feed dual action brush more specifically the HP-CR revolution...it's the cat's meow!

3) I also use a lot of the cheaper acyrlic craft paints that you can find at wally world for less than a buck a piece...(airbrush paints, like createx can be expensive)...the problem is that the craft paints are a lot thicker than the airbrush ready paints, however I've mastered a cheap way to get the cheaper paints to work...60/40 paint to windshield washer fluid mix..(the blue stuff in a big jug for .99cents works great and goes a long way!)...for some reason the airbrush thinner is expensive, like around 70bucks for a gallon

The key, and I mean the key is air pressure...you really have to play around with your pressures to get the right type of flow..especially when you are thinning paints and changing your viscosity...I can run from 10psi up to 35 depending on what I'm doing
