Sounds good. We will be having birthday cake later when we have Lakes party but other than that I will probably just eat what I can dig out of the fridge.

The one I have been using is simple but gives the beef a good flavor with the smoke. 3 tablespoon coarsely ground black pepper 2 tablespoons salt 1 tablespoon white sugar 1 tablespoon onion powder 2 teaspoons mustard powder 2 teaspoons garlic powder 2 teaspoons chili powder 1 teaspoon chipotle powder 1 teaspoon paprika I rub the brisket with peanut oil prior to the dry rub. Then cook for about 1hr and 15min per pound @ 225-250.

THANKS TAVES!!!!
i noticed you don't use cayenne pepper. jsut wondering why. reason is cause most every rub i have seen has it in there somewhere. lol, i used too much last time i did a pork shoulder. my in laws said it was the best they had. lisa and i thought i was a bit too spicy. but her parents loved it. they like it hot they said. hahaha.

The chipotle powder gives it a similar kick, plus I prefer the smokey flavor of the chipotle powder.

Don't think you would be interested in seeing them now, if you get my thinking.

Had too many folks at the house ready to eat, probably would have gotten strung up if I had made them wait for me to take pics.

Sounds good to me, I smoked mine on cherry and hickory, and finished it with just a little apple.

Sounds good guys!
I'm gonna add your rub to my list of rubs to try (it never seems to get any shorter). Sometime this fall, I'm gonna to a whole pork shoulder. Better start inviting people now. BB
