Because the bait monkey is all over me and clawing the crap out of me to get this reel. I found a website for a place right down the road from the shipyard that has the Shimano Speedmaster. The reel is around 300 and up in the states anywhere I look. It is on sale for 225 over here. Flea told me the other day she paid off my credit card and left specific directions that if she saw another charge at a bait shop, she would pull the monkey's leg off and beat me with it. I am out of fingernails...tis better to ask for forgiveness than permission as I always say. I will keep you posted.

It might be a blessing in disguise, at least for now. The lady that runs the shop got back in touch with me and said they were out of Speedmasters and Scorpions. But she told me to contact her as soon as I got back over here in the end of January. Better luck next month.

Damn right lol. Planning on staying that way till I'm at least 30. That way I don't get bogged down with the whether or not I should buy that new reel.

The last time I was at Walls they had the Quantum ultra high speed reel 7.3:1 for $150 Never have used a Quantum before that monkey has been nagging me mighty hard ever since.

I started using quantum this year. It seems to me that their reels are super smooth, from low end to high.

Hey Bubba, here is an idea that just might work for you. Treat it like they do in politics. Start a petition of signitures from all the members in here who blieve you should spend the dollars on the new reel. Surely if you have enough political backing she'll conceed.

Hmmm, only 2gs to put on my crdit card. That is going in out of my comfort zone. I tend to stay in SR-71 mode. Doing something like that would throw me up on the radar like the Hindenburg. I always tell the truth, it is up to her to present the right question though.
