How do you decide between #50 braid and #65 braid for jigs and worms?

In what conditions do you use fluorocarbon and what is a good line?

i would use the same diameter line as i would use in mono for the braid.thicker line diggs in less.in would use sufix braid over powerpro because it diggs in less and is smoother.i never met a flouro i liked.i use cajun red cast when i want a low vis mono.flouro is not totally invisible anyway and imho is not worth the handling problems or the money.

redcast is a great all around line.make sure you do not buy red lightning.it sucks.i usually buy stike king trailer hooks because they have them at dick's near my house.they come with the tubing to put them on.i usually get the smallest size they have.

I would use dif. lines than that, but try all dif kinds of lines until you find one you like. The type of line I use depends on bait/conditions in which I am fishing. I use Tru-Turn 2/0 bleeding trailer hooks.

switchin from braid to 20 pound red cast on my pnj rod -just for giggles-

trailer hooks on a spinnerbait i rarely use them. always use them on a buzzbait..

I cant stand redcast. Has too much memory , and IMO, Trilene XT or Xl is way better.

it was probably not red cast but red lightning.red cast is limper than trilene xl.

Joolz-I'm with Dodge. I use 50 lb braid since it is the same diameter as 12 lb mono.

I use Seguar Carbon Pro fluoro line for weightless soft plastics, finesse jigs and small worms on a T-rig.

You are correct. It was red lightning. Looked in basspro, and realized that more than one line has that style of label. May have to try redcast one day.

If you can afford it, by all means by pure flouro. I reccomend Seaguar, or P-line. If not, then buy a copolymer (like a mono-flouro mix). I reccomend Gamma, or P-line.

Cool. I stopped at Sportsman's about a mile away from here. I got some #50 Power Pro. I like it a lot. It makes me feel more confident because of it's strength and feel.

Started using pp/40lb last spring to throw 1/2oz. traps in a weed filled pond. Worked great. Also used same line to throw 12 inch worms in the really heavy stuff. Pulled out one 6.5 bass and 4lbs of weeds.

belive it or not though every one hypes braid look in a pro's rod box some time. i have -wont say which one- but he only had 3 rods rigged with braid -he had about 30- to be honest braid has it's place. but so does mono and floro..i probly have to retie braid twice as much as i do mono.. i have yet to feel a pnj bite that i could not have felt on mono.. i do have 3 reels rigged with something other than mono. i find that braid or fireline works best for frogs.. braid definatly keeps the bait up. fire line cuts thru grass/hydrilla like a knife-something braid wont do..

i use 30,40,80 pound braid 30 pound fireline..

i use the 30, 40, and 50lb. power pro on my baitcasters, though i do prefer the 40lb. (10lb. diameter) for my Plastics, Jigs, and senko fishin...

Well,I use fluorocarbon when fishing clear water,fluoroclear is a fluorocarbon coated copolymer,it has more stretch and more visibilty than pure fluorocabon. Fireline is like a fused line,I know that christopherkeene9 uses it.

fire line is a fused copoly line it is kinda flat.. it has no stretch,cast very well.. only draw back is it sharp. if i used it on a righty reel i tend to palm the reel the line running against my finger. i would cut my finger on every hook set..on a lefty reel i don't have this problem..

if you get hung do not try to free it by pulling it with your bare hands..

Zooker covered Fireline. A superline is simply another name for braid.

I use fluorocarbon for applications where I want line invisibility but also want a tough, no/little stretch line like weightless worms and finesse jigs.

Fluoroclear is a co-polymer line like mono with a flurorcarbon coating where fluorocarbon is line made from the fluorocarbon crystals.
