Default 9-year old goes over 10-pound mark

At the young age of 9 years Ryan Edwards hit the over 10-pound club that is sought after by so many fishermen.

Grandfather Bill Okeefe gave Ryan a two day gift certificate for Christmas and Ryan turned the trick in the first day.
Â*
The fish weighed on the Boga Grip at 10 1/4 pounds, measured 27 X17, and after photos was released back for the next lucky angler. She did all she could do to avoid her session above the water, but Ryan's skillful handling of rod and reel kept him with the upper hand. After valiant effort on her part she finally succumbed and put Ryan in the club.

having slaved away fishing every weekend for the last 25 years. and my biggest is 9.3 i say this lil piss pot did NOT deserve this fish. in no way shape or form. at least the lil ankle biter released this fish-show's he had no idea how tough it is to catch a 10+pound bass.

well i will step down from my soap box now......
NEXT...

I think a lot of us secretly feel the same way as zook.

Good for him the kid. Oh, and thanks George, for rubbing salt in my eyes with that picture.....

For the record: This youngster starting fishing as soon as he could hold a fishing rod. He fishes in excess of 100 days per year and has fished just about any "fishing" destination you care to mention. He has landed bill fish including a blue marlin, and his achievements can be found in IGFA..

George you know I'm just joking. I'm sure he is a credit to all young fisherman. Winter just has a way of bringing out the resentment in people who don't get to live in Florida or fish florida on a regular basis....

I do understand the joking, but I don't understand the language that was used above. I don't think Ryan would understand it if he came here and read it either. It was highly uncalled for and woefully inappropriate and I ain't no prude.

I know. That kid is talented at his age all i had ever caught was a few bluegill. He has already over the 10 pound mark with bass. He goes fishing for billfish and is noted in the IGFA for it. He goes fishing 100 days a year. I wish I was that talented when I was his age.

I hope that you got other pictures and measurements so you can get a fiberglass repo. (if desired)
