Arrow Norfork Lake 03/27/2010

Here was some I Saturday. Had 15 keepers in all. I brought 6 to the house to keep my wife happy as she likes to eat fish. I figure if I keep her a mess of fish once in awhile she wont complain about me fishing too much ;D
Anyway these were caught on Norfork Lake in MO/ARK up in the river on wiggle warts. We just had a good rain and the river come down stained so the fish were shallow in the main lake channel swings and bluffs from Liner Creek to Briar Creek. The winds were strong and naturally the fish were only on the places that the wind was pounding really good.

Thanks. No kickers but good solid keepers.

I quit fishing for 6 years after I got burned out. I decided to start up again this year and got another boat. I was afraid I couldnt remember how to fish LOL.

Still have lots to re-learn but I'm trying

Those are nice fish, but I gotta say, I wouldn't have kept any fish that big to eat.

Now, I'm not one of those people who is against keeping fish no matter what. There's a couple reasons I would not have kept those. Right now they've probably got eggs and getting ready to spawn, or will entering prespawn soon. Also, the smaller, just over the limit sized fish taste better then the big ones. If we keep any bass to eat, it's always 16-17"ers (limit is 15" here). (although around here, there's a lot better eating fish than bass)

Uh, only 3 had eggs and those are only 15-17 inch fish (limit is 15). Guess I should have said those were all 4 pounders as they look bigger than that to you and you probably would have believed it.
Bass out of cold water is as good as any fish I have ever ate and believe me I have eat all of 'em around here from time to time

Those are only 15-17" fish?! wow, the do look much bigger. I apologize then, those are perfect eater size.

But I seriously do think the smaller fish (of any species really) taste better. Like around here, I'd rather get 5 average walleye than a couple really big ones (for eating anyways).

Also, any fish from cold water tastes better than the same fish in warm water, and meat is not as soft. That's why I don't like crappie unless it came through a hole in the ice.
