buzz baits in April...
Went pond fishing yesterday and had a blast. I was bank fishing in 10-20 mph winds about 4 hours ahead of a major storm front. When I arrived the fish were popping the top of the water on the shore line and where there was cover sticking out of the water. I caught 9 bass (nothing of great size 1-2 pounds) on a white/red strike king buzz bait. I never thought about a buzz bait in April, but if it works, who cares! I caught a few on a balck/blue 3" tube bait and 2 on clown colored jerk bait. I left well ahead of the storm. I don't mind fishing in the rain, but hail, lighting, and wall clouds are another story.

Awesome, nothing like topwater bites. And I don't like the hail or lightning too much either LOL.

April is prime time for buzzin' bass in Tn. so I wouldn't think it to be much different in Ky.

For a week down here before someone left the damn freezer door open we where killing the bass on a red/black StikeKing buzzer. Always a good bait when they first move into the shallows when they seem to attak anything that moves. I start fishing the buzzer when the temps hit 60,water temp that is.
