Default Hooks at ICAST

While rods and reels are the highlight of ICAST for more, there's still a lot more.

Gamakatsu is bringing out a Flipping Hook, which is the closest to the BMF hook they manufactured for Reaction Innovations that I've seen. Welded eye, bait keeper on the shank. Definitely a hook I'm going to buy since I've starting to flip plastics more this year.

Gammy is also bringing out a wacky rig hook. It's weedless, which is great. And the highlight (IMO) of this hook is the tube that will attached to the shank allowing the line to be run through it so it stands out for a dropshot rig.

This year, I've become a BIG fan of Owner Twistlock hooks and I probably use them more than EWGs now for plastics. Owner is bringing out some light wire twistlock hooks for finesse fishing. But they're also bringing out a light wire flippin' hook. Made with a special metal alloy, they claim it to be just as strong as a heavy wire hook, but with better penetration due to the thin wire. I'm excited to see this one on the shelves.

Hmm.. light wire flipping hook, interesting.

That wacky rig/drop shot hook looks sweet! I've always loved the Owner wacky hooks for DS and wacky, lets see how this one compares. Also VMC came out with a new "spark point" hook that looks pretty cool, I don't remember all the details, but they looked awesome!
