Default Computer Help

Ok, I recently purchased a 4GB Toshiba SD memory card for my Cannon camera. I took a few pictures on it and went to put them on my computer. Our computer has a memory card reader, so I used that like I normally do. Well, when I put the memory card in the computer, nothing happened. Normally a window pops up giving me options to import, views, etc.

Since I'm not completely computer impaired, I was going to get to the info through My Computer (cause it shows the removable drives) Well, it didn't even recognize the card was there, and was showing that no storage device was hooked up. Yet the light that comes on on the card reader is on, it turns on when you put a card in.

Any ideas? Suggestions? My old memory card still works, but just not the new one. Is it the memory card, computer? Do I have to do something with it so the computer will recognize it.

Thanks,
BB

You need to look at the manual and see a download site listed that has a driver for that camera..I've had to do this a few times..or if not listed I've had to call customer service..
give them a call, they are pretty nice about explaining how to get your pc to read that card, but in my cases its been a driver to be installed ...they are free..if you cant find one google a crack for that camera make driver..something will come up

i use a 8gb card in both my cameras. you have to format the card prior to use in the camera..

i have both an m series dock and a card reader.. btw you can't put the card in wrong.. check the lock on the card....

I think I figured out the problem. The card is a SDHC (hc= high capacity) and my card reader only reads SD cards. I guess I should start digging for the usb cord for the camera...
