storm comming in, bite was tough
I figured with a big front comming in and finally some cloud cover and wind, the bite would be on tonight, but it was one of those nights 'ya had to
work for them' It kinda cleared off once I got the johnboat in the water, still about 15 mph winds, so I get out the spinnerbait and worked over some trees that just blew in the water this last week, nothing, worked on some lizard action but couldn't find the fish on or near the bank... Finally occured to me to back the boat up and I tried the 2-3 ft drop, then the 5-7 drop, and started getting bite. I went out thinking they would hit a crankbait , but after chuckin' that for awhile I changed to topwater, got two on the buzzbait, one on the spook, and one on the spinnbait. Pattern changed a bit on me this week, but thats bass fishing...still felt great to GET OUT! |
