Finally! I can throw away that syringe from the 80's ! Plus I never knew the same clip I was using for a depth guage while ice fishing would work in a new way.

Thanks everyone-
JB don't throw away the syringe, especially if you are confident using it. The clip is just another tool. We've found that a very high percentage of livewell kept, deep caught fish don't need a needle though. On the other hand, I believe that fizzing is sometimes the only way to make sure it will get back healthy to be caught another day. The main goal of Flip Clip Fishing is to help anglers protect the resources we have.

Keep watching, I'll post an offer to this forum's members soon...

Jimmy

Cool , will the fish swim back to deep water once released or will it belly up on the lake surface ? I am guessing you dont leave the clip on...?? Maybe I didnt read enough on the website.

thanks for the info flipclip, your clip idea just seems more humane that the needle, but if both help save a bass's life we can enjoy catching it again sometime in the future. Good luck with the product sales and distribution

Here's a great article on fizzing, for those that dont remember what its about or have never heard of this life saving procedure, check out this link

I remember seeing it done or demonstrated in the mid or late 80's but not sure when it all started, I'll read more of the article LOL^

Pretty cool idea. I'm not confident enough with a needle yet, I'd probly do more harm than good.

congrats and welcome flipclip. you won't be sorry bout hooking up with us. great idea in stead of using the needle. i hate needles (shivers at the thought of one, lol). can't stand to be poked by one, so i couldn't poke anything WITH one.

Bassfishin forum members:
OK, here's the offer I told you to watch for: The next 10 members of this forum that register on the Flip Clip "Contact Us" page and fill in a good mailing address, I'll send out one free sample Flip Clip. Put your user name from the forum in the message box too. I wish I could do more than 10 because I know the more we get out there more fish we help save.

They work on the big ones too...You can stack them on the anal fin until you get it to flip. I had 3 on a big SM on Erie. I've been shipping a ton of these to Texas were "everything is bigger" and they have this problem year round.

We're up to 8, 2 more left...

Oh, BTW I'm also part of the Vicious Fishing Tournament Team www.vicious-fishing.com If anyone wants to try Vicious line I have a few sample rolls left- send me an e-mail at flipclip@flipclipfishing.com and I'll see if I can help you out.

IMO the needle through the mouth is the easiest and best way to help correct an imbalance of the air bladder...the fiancee is a nurse so I have a few needles with the plunger removed in the boat that work well to save these usually big fish....this video really show the appropriate way to help out a deep water bass... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyoe0jrZWvQ

I'm sure the clips help to stabilize the fish from floating upside down, but how does it help regulate the imbalance of the bladder?

I just realized that the guy in the video is sort of promoting bends mender, I apologize, I didn't mean to hijack this thread...I don't use that product, but I do use the same method

Jason a bass has its own biological systems that regulate air bladder volume by using it's circulatory and respiratory systems. But, it can't use them if it's upside down or exerting and focusing all of its energy trying to turn back over. The majority of fish we've caught in Erie will recover to perfect health in under 2 hours by using the Flip Clip and without a needle. Also, several of our users have caught and revived fish hooked in under 2 feet of water that had equilibrium issues, not necessarily related to the air bladder. Stress is a HUGE factor, that's why we strongly recommend the use of Sure-Life's Catch and Release.
