Default Fending off the monkey!

Well maybe not fending him off, but not spending so much. As I said before, we've got a friend on the inside at BPS. 40% off all BPS stuff, even some sale items.

So my dad picked out a Rick Clunn BC reel for his Loomis (which means I now have to take my reel off it ) Anyways, and we got two extreme qualifier 3600 bags (they fit the Falcon boxes good) (and one has bags of soft plastics in it.) anyways, after our friends' discount, we got the reel and two bags for less than the price of the reel!

Saving money feels so good, especially when it's on fishing gear!

Sounds nice! We and my dad went to gander can spent about 200.00. I got a bunch of spinnerbaits, one was a T-2 spinnerbait (gold willow/turtle shell blade combo), Chartreuse, black and white skirt! I caught this nice bass on (20-23")!

How are the Clunn reels btw?

I'll let you know how the Rick Clunn reel is as soon as we get it on the water. My dad's getting some Ande mono (I feel so special, I get to use what Zook uses!) lol anyways, I unfortunatly, have no rod for me Skeet Reese reel now. I better get working on that yeller 'n black crankin' rod I'm gonna build.

I'd use 12, but my dad is most likely gonna get 10. unless it's braid, or w/ a specific technique that need heavier line, I normally don't go over 12 on a BC.

Zook, which Ande do you use? The ande tournament has the same diameters as stren. So does the Ande premium mono.

The Clunn reels are a very nice reel for the price i have three of the 08 models (5.4, 6.4, and 7.1) all have worked flawlessly since the day i bought them. BB, just curious if you got the new 09 model with the dual brakes or the 08 model with the ITB brakes which they had at the rossford store in 7.1 for $79?

I know it dose'nt look that big, but I can't say for sure the size, I didn't have a muesuring tape with me so I used my rod; From them top of the cork to the first guied is 16", it was at least 4" beyond that. I have another pic, it may look bigger!

You can also go broke "saving".

I got this fantastic deal a couple of years ago, Daiwa TDZs for $200 a piece, the MSRP was $350, so I purchased 4, instead of spending $1,400 I "saved" $600 and only paid $800.

It's the new 09 w/ the Dual brake system. The dark blue finish on the new ones is pretty awesome looking too.

bassboss, it does look bigger in the second pic.

Raul, I know what ya mean.
