Angry Cheap Cabela's Rods!!!

I just got home to find my new Cabela's XML rod I bought on sale, and man, am I pissed!

Pissed at myself I didn't buy like 3 more of them while I had the chance!

Why, oh why did I not buy one of those flippin' sticks too?

God, the quality on this thing is amazing, especially for the 50 bucks it cost me. It even came with its own little sack/tube thingie. For only a medium 5' 6" rod, it's got some pretty good backbone too.

Man, they shipped it fast too. Ordered it on Sunday and it's on my doorstep Wednesday? Awesome! It's stuff like that that creates loyal customers.

I'm thinking of buying one tonight, but I'm disappointed because what I wanted to buy was a 7 foot MH action rod and that rod is one of only 2 that are not on sale. Ughhh

Keith, I picked that same one up in the store the other day and really wanted it! That thing fells great, then I saw it was not on sale. Ended up getting their "drop shot" rod for wacky rigs and love it so far.
I never mail ordered rods, too afraid of the shipping damage and resulting insurance hassles.

Bender, did you happen to handle the 7 foot heavy action one piece rod by chance and if so how did you like it? I'm wondering about the tip, whether it's a fast action tip or extra fast action tip. If it is just a fast action tip, it may work well for what I want to do which is to pitch baits around heavy cover. I like a little flexability in a rod tip for casting, not the broom stick feel some heavy power rods have.

Bender, when I was at Cabela's, I asked a guy and he said if they can prove the sale at the cash register, they should acknowledge the sale, even if it's not marked. I was going to, but they didn't have the one I wanted. I was gonna get the 7'MH "finesse flippin" stick and throw soft plastic and small swimbaits on it.

I was sooooooo tempted to take it to work today and show people lol but the only guys who would actually appreciate it at work are guys that i'm gonna do a lot of fishing with this summer. They can wait

If I remember correctly, and oftentimes I don't (I blame the 80's), Bender talked to them about it and they wouldn't honor it

They wouldn't honor the bargain cave sale price since it was on "select rods that have been returned", which makes sense I guess.

Keith, I did not see or try that rod, sorry.
