He was at the Gander Mountain last night by my office and my kids wanted to see him and get his autograph. So we took them up there and stood in line for 3 hrs and finally met him. My wife took a quick picture with him and the kids too. Was pretty cool. I'll have a fence crew at the track tonight and tomorrow in case they wreck in the fence during the race... I'll have to go out and fix it. Been doing this for the last 22 years at RIR. They're a good customer of mine. Should be a great race but hope they don't get too crazy this weekend!!!

BA, me and the Bassinbandit used to go and campout for the sept. race every year until he started playing high school football. WE really enjoyed spending 2 days at the track watching qualifing and both races. After the race on Sat. nite we find a place to go and watch the racing rigs go by.
Those camping trip memories are priceless.
Richmond is a great place to go watch a race. I can remember Wallace and EARNHARDT (the greatest ever) running 25 laps side by side for the lead. Great action track

I remember that race as well! I was a huge Rusty Wallace fan and enjoyed those battles with Earnhardt (even though Earnhardt won most of them ). I remember watching Sr. wreck Rusty near the end of a race at Richmond and I was so mad I wanted to throw something at Sr.'s car. Those days were classic!

BTW... I got to meet Earnhardt Sr. at a practice session years ago at Richmond. My dad and I talked to him for a few minutes in the garage while they were working on his car. He was pretty cool. Still rooted against him though!!!

I remember Rusty throwing a water bottle at Earnhardt--I bet that was you and not Rusty.
Your right those days were classic.

A great thing about that track is the people get out of the track area and on your way home in a hurry.
