Couple from this morning

Headed to Little Platte Lake this morning after not bein there for 2-3 weeks.
Nothing major to report, although I did catch 8 bass ranging from about 1 1/2 - 3#.
1 came off a Bobby's Perfect Frog (completely inhaled it), the rest off my favorite spinnerbait. Sadly, the bait is history. The last fish I hooked ended up with the main body hook very near his eye. Couldn't come up with a way to save the eye and the bait, so the eye won out, and I snipped the hook off.
Only took 2 pics. The 2nd fish is the only one I weighed and he came in at 2.7. the first fish was slightly heavier

lol yeah, at 1.85 a pop, i'll respect the fish. was just workin on the replacement a few minutes ago

kinda figured as much mallen I would have done the same thing did you try just bending the barb down before you clipped it ?

Nah, might have worked though. The whole problem was the fact that I woulda had to force the hook downward to clear the barb, so it would have snagged his eye.
Bending the barb down woulda worked, I bet

yeah I have hooked a few like that and bending the barb down has generally done the trick and since I very rarely throw a spinner without a trailer hook no harm no foul

Of course! I'm done buying spinnerbaits and yeah, they're pretty fish on that lake. The smallies are absolutely beautiful there as well, although they're few and far between.

Thanks! Yeah the water is crazy clear when the sun's shinin. It's really one of my favorite sunny day lakes
