Default New England adventure

I've taken a little time to head up to Cape Cod and visit my folks. I spent a little time visiting NY City, due to a wrong turn here and there, but I got out without getting mugged or my car stolen . Got to the Cape and did a little fishing yesterday with only a few bites from some small bluefish. Might do some freshwater fishing today but that costs $ while surf fishing is free.

Here's a sample of the local architechure.....plus dinner last night

Sorry, I appologize for my rudeness. Everyone is invited to the 4th of July picnic/bbq/clam bake at my cousin Sue's place. Just let them know at the gate that Smitty invited you.

What I want to know is....what kind of surf rig you use to catch lobster?!?!?!

I totally love surf fishing too. That rhythm of the waves on your slip rig and the wind an all is so relaxing.

It's called a Joe's Seafood rig and costs $8 a pound!!

The area we fish is a channel that runs out of a small bay. Topwaters, Gulp eels, and Kasmasters are the go to baits when the blue and stripers run through. Sometimes you get a summer fluke or two. Right now they're catching sea robins and scup on bottom rigs. I had one tail ripped off and another eel pecked at by some small blue fish. They were big enough to grab it and run with it.

I was thinking about making a run up to Sabago Lake in Maine but that's another 4 hour trek added on to the drive home.

Jim - thanks for the invite but I'll be heading home on Tuesday. I need to get out on the water to pre-fish for a couple tournaments next weekend.

66 - saw some nice ones at the store for $6.99 lb. today. They looked delicious.
