Did I ever get a deal!
I was down in Laredo, which is on the Texas/Mexico border and stopped at an Academy store during lunch. I was looking at the rods and a clearance tag caught my eye. It was attached to a 6'10" Falcon Cara. $200 rod marked down to $69. I couldn't pass that up but it got better. Price? At checkout it was marked down to $49! Unfortunately it was the only one. As I was getting it I found out why-at least I think I know why-it was marked down. Upon further examination I discovered the insert on the tip was missing. 15 minutes and a $2 rod tip-which I already have-to replace it and I have a fantastic new rod

The Cara is a good rod at MSRP, I've been using one for a few months with jigs and plastics.....excellent. At $49 you could just keep it in the boat to kill snakes and such!

Congrats on the great deal Reb! Ridiculous price man, and for only a broken tip guide.
I picked up a Cara Micro earlier this year for over 50% off with a broken guide. Like $12 bucks at net craft for the guide and the repair. It was a good deal, but you got mine way beat! BB

Wow Rod, thats a heck of a steal. I wonder how many looked at the tip and walked away not realizing how easily it can be corrected.
