Nope, I've never seen anything like that. All I've seen bass eat is brim and shiners.

Bass will hit anything that moves, and if it gets in it's strike zone, watch out. Why would a baby gator be any different. Like WTL said, lizards look just like them at a young age.

See if you can find a copy of the old video "Bigmouth" by Glenn Lau. You'll get to see a bass attack a baby duck. Very good video overall, also.

Hey Cajun that is one great video. I was just talking about that video today. I believe Rod Serling of "Twilight Zone" fame narrarated it as well.

I've never SEEN a bass eat anything... how would you happen to see that, unless you have super clear water? ???

They'll attack whatever they can. That simple. That is their instinct.

Lone in order to think like a fish, do you have to sleep with the fish ?If you slept with them eating in front of you would not embarrass them at all.I heard they got to eat meat they sit too high off the ground to eat grass ? Wrong fish never mind. :-[

We used to have a bass in a tank at the tackle shop I used to work part time in. It was really interesting to watch that fish and the way it responded to things like weather changes. Same with watching it feed. So yes. I've seen a fish eat. I've also seen it hit a lure.

There are lot's of video tapes with that kind of stuff on them. The one "Bigmouth" I mentioned earlier has a shot of a bass hitting a crankbait. The bass swims up behing the bait, (looks like a Bagley DB-3) and takes the bait compleatly into it's mouth, closes it's mouth, then opens it again and the bait comes out. The angler (Homer Circle) never knew he had a strike.

In another shot the camera shows a plastic worm falling in front of the basss. One second the worm is there. The next it is GONE. (Blink) The narriator said the film was running through the camera at 24 frames per second. The worm is one on frame, and not on the other one. That fish sucked the worm in, in 1/24 of a second. Remember. The next time you feel a tap. SET THE HOOK! You won't be too fast.

at the bass pro in orlando they always have on mondays wednesdays and saturdays some shows where people stand above the tank and throw ahookless lure in thereto see which lure which fish hits. Â*Then afterwards they feed THE BASS live shiners, and sometime they jump straight out of the tank. Â*Plus I've been fishing on a river when a school of shiners came right up about a foot away from me and then I see this bass just bolt up all of the sudden and gulp one down. Â*It was pretty neat.

I've been to the BPS in Orlando and I stood right there at the tank and they never gave me any shiners to eat. That stinks, maybe they just started giving them to the customers. ;D

If you insert money somewhere they usually give you shiners or a pair of shiny bracelets. Have seen Bass and Tarpon take out baby gators before. Problem is when I catch them I usually get the other side of the food chain trying to get my fish.

The bass that ate the gator was like 3 to 4 lbs. Based on what the TV showed.
