Default A mosquito and black fly repellent that actually works?

Hey all,

Recently when I've been out fishing or blueberry picking around dusk, huge hoards of mosquitoes and blackflies have been getting me in spite of my best efforts to cover up and spray myself with deet. I've also tried the dryer sheet trick with little success. A bug hat is the only thing that blocks the bugs, but then it is hard to see what I'm doing. The blackflies are the worst, seeing that the spray doesn't stop them at all.

Does anyone know of any other tricks?

I use Deep Woods Off pump spray. It is great. I also put a downy dryer sheet in my collar of my shirt and one around one of my belt loops and one in each sock. Laugh if you want but the dryer sheets work wonders. Do NOT use the aerosol cans of Deep Woods OFF. For some reason, they are like bug attractants. I think it maybe the stuff that is used to pressurize the cans. But the aerosol cans stink compared to the manual pump spray.

Mix Listerine and water and spray on your skin and clothing. It will stop mosquitoes, but I don't know about flies. I've use the Skin-So-Soft for gnats and it works pretty good.

I've been using Deep Woods Off aerosol (with little luck)... I've never seen the pump kind, but I'll see if I can find it. We also have Listerine in the house, so I'll have to try that trick too. If those don't work, I'll look into the avon.

I'll let you guys know how these work!

Yeah. Deep Woods OFF in the aerosol is more like Deep Woods ON. Keep it and give it to the competition during a tournament.

I have found that they do not like the smoke from the crack pipe, but maybe that is just me.

Seriously, skin so soft has been the one for me ever since Paris Island and the sand fleas. Nothing has beat it as far as I am concerned.
