Default My New PB

Hey guys! I was out fishing at the community pond with Ryan tonight and managed to catch a new PB. I was using a 5 inch Bass Pro Shops Stik-O in watermelonseed on a Bass Pro Shops Megacast Spinning Reel with a 7 foot Berkley Cherrywood Rod. Within about ten casts I had a fish on, I got him up on the bank and weighed him, he was 6 oz. I moved to a different area of the pond after not getting bit for 10 minutes. A little later I had another fish on, I brought him up on the bank and weighed him and he was 9 oz. I then caught another and weighed him and he was 15 oz. I then moved to a little channel in the pond and began to fish there. in the middle of the channel there is a water pipe that takes excess water from the surrounding fields and puts it in the pond. I look in there and see a bass in the water so I cast past him and bring it slowly back. I go to look at Ryan and something absolutely nails it! I bring him up onto the bank and weighed him. He was 1 lb 9oz. A little later I get some weeds on my worms so I smack it on the water a couple times to get then off and I see a green flash. I panic and set the hook and my worm comes flying out.I am ticked. I scream and then everything goes silent and I can here the echo. So I fix my worm and put it back in and about 5 seconds later I see the same green flash. I wait, lift the rod tip slowly and feel weight so i drop the rod tip and set the hook HARD! I swing him up on the bank and weigh him and he goes 2 lb 13 oz! I caught this fish in less than a foot of water right where that pipe enters the pond! I also finished with a 5 fish limit of 6 lb 3 oz! That is my biggest fish and biggest limit ever from the pond!

good job man... keep pushin and fishin.... isnt it amazing how shallow you can catch bass?

i was free linin bream in this little pond just for fun and after a while i was crankin it in to throw it out again a fish came up and tried to eat it, but stupid me pulled it right out of the water, so i quickly dropped right in and a 4lber nailed it again and he inhaled it, i set the hook and quickly fliped him on the land, really cool experience, all in about 5 inches of water

just shows to keep your mind open of where the fish are

Man...just for fun, I'd like to see what a 10lb bass would look like with you holdin it, Cavs. (Not makin' fun of ya, as a young'n, you're just small compared to us old geezers). You make that 3 lb'er look like a new state record or something.

P.S. I like the way you hold your fish. It kills me watching most bass anglers who think they need to bend the fish's jaw 90 degrees backwards so they can pose like their favorite bassin' hero.

Very true. You can break their jaw, making it very difficult/impossible for them to eat. Even catch and release fish may end up dead if that happens.

Nice fish, and nice ear-to-ear grin, too.

Man, you could use one of my socks for a sleeping bag. But don't worry about it...if you're ever caught by aliens, they'll figure you're too small and throw you back.
