Default River Bassin'

I just went to a river by the lake I fish , and the sign said 12" black bass size limit. Black Bass were identified as smallmouth , spotted and largemouth. I just wondered what kind of lures work best in river fishing ? I cought one bass , and got two more bites on a black and blue jig. Then I lost that jig and another on the rocky bottom.... Any help appreciated..

Is this a Spottedbass ? I didnt think the mouth was big enough for a largemouth , but it wasnt small either...

Baby Paca Craw's. Cranks, something with chartreuse, second choice is shad colors. Is this a tidal river? If so then the fishing is always better with current. Most baits you use to catch them in lakes and ponds work too. Don't limit yourself. River bass usually fight a lot better though

I use grubs and tubes mostly in rivers. Topwater baits and spinnerbaits also work.

yup, thats a spot. if you feel around the back of their tongues, spots will have a patch of teeth, all the other black bass dont.
