Default Rod + Reel

I heard I should get a different pole and reel. I really like baitcasting reels. I would mainly be fishing bass and pike probably. The most common gamefish. Walleye too but not as much.

Where do I start? What should I get?!?!? Like i said im only 12 not 11 so money is sort of an issue.

thanks

julien

You could probably get a decent combo at your local wallmart, like an ambassader reel for 39 bucks with a 20 rod, or even cheaper ...it will take some time for ya to learn the art of baitcasting.

baitcasting isnt to hard, it just takes some practice. on the combo,i reccomend the quantum tournament grade combo. its a bit expensive at $65,but it will last you a long time.

You wills soon, after you buy your first quality combo, learn that there is a huge difference. If your dad/mom/guardian fishes with you, let them use your combo for a bit(when you get it), and they will see how much of a difference it makes. For an do-all rod, I would reccomend a 6'6" mh rod, with a fast tip.

Jool,
In order to help you more, Give me some specifics onthe lures you want to throw, I.E.- Crankbaits, Or Spinnerbaits, buzzers etc etc.

Different rod actions for different lures.
