Default Last Call for Fantasy Fishing

The Classic starts tomorrow. If you want to play, now is the time. It's a free and fun way to follow the Elite Series. Let me know and I'll send you the info.

The easiest way is probably for you to pm your email address. I will email you an official invitation that will have the password and direct link to the group. I've tried copy and pasting the link but it doesn't seem to go to the group.

I've changed my line up about 10 times. I will probably change it again before I go to bed tonight, it's really hard to choose.

"The Bassmaster Classic does not count toward the season points, so I am taking a little more risk with some of my picks to try and get a few more points per bucket than the main angler choices."

As always I'm confused.
This paste came from the Fantasy site. Some Dave guy and his strategy for the classic.

So how does it work?
Heard they tweaked somethings this year.
Cause I too have over thought the strategies and the picks

Only one I'm comfortable with is Matt Lee and that's because my 'friend' knows his 'freind'.

Ok, found this at Fantasy Site Rules.
But still confused.
How does the this events points or placements effect the over all standing of your team?

C. SCORING
.......
'Elite Series Season Rankings are cumulative of all Elite Series events, from Elite Series tournament #1, Sabine River Challenge, through Elite Series tournament #8, Championship Chase. The Bassmaster Classic will not be included in the Elite Series Season Rankings.

Last year the Classic didn't count in your final score. It was only the 8 events in the regular season that counted. Also, the buckets changed after every 2 events. For example, if one guy was hot or favored on a particular lake, he might move up to higher bucket, or if a guy was sucking, he might move down. In years past, the Classic counted and the buckets were set for the whole season. I haven't read anything that says how it's going to be this year.

I'm not sure what you're asking Joe. According to that, the Classic wont count in the final scoring. The scoring is directly based on the AOY points that each angler scores in each event they fish. Your final score will be the sum of the AOY points scored for every angler you pick.

Great, I think I've confused myself now.

I think I'm confused too. Even last year when we had money involved I was just picking my gut and playing for fun, but I thought picking long shots and underdogs somehow earned you more points than picking the fav's in every bracket. Is there not some kind of official scoring formula posted somewhere?

Picking long shots and underdogs doesn't score you more points, it just means that not many people picked that person so not many people capitalized on their high finish. In other words, if you pick an underdog and he wins a tournament, you will be one of the very few people to get those points because no one else picked that person.

The column on the far right of the buckets labeled "Ownership" shows the % of people who have picked that angler. You can tell who is getting picked the most and the least.

This is the only mention of him that I've seen all morning...

More from Drowning Creek: Quinn, Lee and Scroggins

Add Carhartt College Bass champ Matt Lee to the mix in Drowning Creek. We've also seen Jason Quinn. Now we're watching "Big Show" Terry Scroggins as he fishes a bank near Chris Lane.

Yeah I think I figured out they don't even put you on the list until you at least catch a short.

Was in the War room and Matts brother and a couple of Auburns anglers and no mention of problem.
Said Matt was as calm as they ever seen him this past week.
So who knows.

Clunn was on and said that he 'guarantees that 80% of the anglers are using RC Sticks' cause they called him for them. But couldn't mention names.
He then said that hiding your lure is now 'the name of the game'.
Bass Track would never last in his boat.
Japan guy, forget his name has been in the middle of the lake since 7:45. Clunn said, 'No he's not there, thats where he tossed out the Basstrax.

Then the fact that one of Ike's fish he held up for a picture had a jerkbait in it's mouth.....but no line attached to lure.
Zona said they not only have the guys wait to take the picture, the anglers will even move a distance so others don't know what exactly the presentation he uses. Example, this morning a lot of pics in front of docks, Zona said Ike's in the narrow off shoot but pitching docks, maybe not. Ike's a shakey head beleiver, remember.

Zona went on to say that down at the Grand, a fast water temp. increase works just like a cold front in Florida. Shuts the bite down.
Said a slow increase will put the fish shallow late, (Christie said his best times during practice was 1-3:30.) but a fast rising temp will work just like a cold front.
Now that's something new to me.

Clunn also said that during cold water on Grand that the Bass prefer to move vertically to compensate for warming water as opposed to flats.

Now for my favorite new term I got from Clunn, "analysis paralysis" .
Was asked a crazy question from some over thinker. Good question but I think it had to do with 'what is the best color'.
Don't over thinkers just ANNOY THE HELL out of you?

Anyway if you get bored the 'War Room' is a good visit.

Don't forget to get your picks in, Sabine River in TX this week!

Also, if anyone else wants to play, pm me your email address and I'll get you in. The Classic doesn't count in the final score so this is really week 1.

I did pretty badly. I only had 1041 points, or something like that. You can still join our group if you want, I think you can be in 5 groups at the same time. PM me your email address and I'll send you an invite.

Congratz to Jrob78 on a great year of picking. You stayed consistently good all year and beat the next best Tony Avery by 284 points.
I hope to give you a better run next year!
