Default Recessed Trolling Motor Tray???

How many have installed them as aftermarket products and I could use a fast 101 instruction guide, and are you happy with it ??

I added an after market one on our and it turned out real nice. It does come with a template. It only took less than 2 hrs.

If you don't have one yet there is some on e-bay.

GOOD LUCK

Its a real nice because it takes the pessure off your legs, and it is a lot more comfortable position. the con is that if you have a big foot (such as I do ) you can get on the edge of the recess and you can stumble a little.

It's just another one of the many so called comfort options that are made available, it allows you to keep your leg in a more natural standing straight leg position while using the foot control rather than having to step up to make each move. You would also be less likely to loose your balance in certain unstable conditions like manuvering in tight cover.

As said before, it makes 12 hour fishing days much easier, I would never buy another boat without it. The only con I can think of is you can't move the pedal around on the deck.

It looks good, sounds good. I have a few questions. Obviously there are drain holes? Does it restrict access to the side controls? Does it kink or cause a weird angle to the main control line? This is something I may entertain, but right now I kick my pedal all over the place depending on where Im fishing on the front deck. Last question, ease of installation?- say 1-10 w/ one being easy.

fireman
drain holes -- yes
easy access -- yes
kink or weird angle -- no
1-10 -- about a 5
It's easy the only hard part getting over the fear of cutting a big hole in the deck. After you get the hole cut, you got it made. Before you cut your hole, get it laid out and check under your deck as much as possible for stringers or anything else that might be in your way.

MOST OF ALL MAKE SURE HOLE IS THE RIGHT SIZE BEFORE YOU CUT.

Bama, the cost of the tray you buy or make. I think the bandit bought his tray for about $120.00 or so the rest is your own labor, about 11/2 hrs. I have seen some on e-bay at some good prices.
