If you have a Bass Pro near you might want to check if they have any Minnkotas on sale. I just picked up a 36# MinnKota for 75 dollars. The model is being closed out but still comes with a three year warranty.

I bought and used a 30lb thrust minnkota endura last year and it did great for pushing my little 12 foot jon boat around. i upgraded to a 45 this year.

30 lb trust on any boat let alone a pontoon here on Ky lake and you would always go backwards with the wind.
So it depends a lot upon the wind ,water how rough,must be glass smooth . |
