Default Steal on a Ducket Micro Magic

Back in June I was fishing in a crowded boat and my Cabela's XLM casting rod got 2 of it's guides crushed, and it's been out of commission since. I just today got around to taking it to the new Cabela's in Green Bay to see about it getting repaired.

They told me they couldn't repair it at that particular store, and if I had a receipt I could get it replaced which I didn't have anymore of course! They offered me a gift card for the rods "lowest sale price," which was $112.

I told em I'd take a look around to see if I could find a rod worth swapping it for. I was just about to settle on a 7'2" MH Compre when an associate told me about a Ducket rod in the bargain cave. I headed over to take a look and found it still sitting there: a 7'3" MH, for 89.99 which is the model I've been wanted to get for a while.

Decided to take the gift card and buy the Micro Magic rod. Reason it was in the bargain cave was because of some minor cosmetic imperfections in the paint as you can see below.

All in all I think I'm happy about the swap on the rods... I've been wanted this rod for a while and think it'll be a step up from my XML... can't wait get out on the water to try it out!

I think you did well. Let us know how you like the Duckett's performance.

I bought my first Duckett rod earlier this season when the reel seat on one of my cranking rods came loose and I was on a good crankbait bite. I had a tournament coming up and didn't have enough time to get the rod fixed so I ran to Bass Pro and picked up a 7' MH Micro Magic cranking rod. It was my first but certainly won't be my last, I freaking love the rod. I'm sure it will be all you want it to be.

Very nice rods in the store. I just hate the paint. Whats wrong with plain jane graphite?
