I've not been a fan of Quantum reels since trying a couple casting & spinning reels many years ago. They may be fine now but I won't go back to a brand that's disappointed me. That said, I have 6 spinning rods on my boat and hanging under each is a Pflueger Supreme. I've had them 5 years and I like them.

Does your Gander have any Citica E's left? Mine does. They are selling them as a combo with one of their brand rods. You can just buy the reels without the rods for cheap. I use several of these reels and they are a pretty good and smooth reel. I've never used Quantum and have a President spinning reel. The President never worked good and turned me off to that brand. You won't be sorry if you buy one and they are selling on ebay used for around 80.00. So if you don't like it you can sell it for more than what you can get it for at Gander.

Sorry relooked at heading and you are looking for a spinning reel. My bad.

These are kind of the responses I expected, actually ; )

The Supremes are a great reel. In fact, the only reel I was even considering until I saw the deal on the Quantums.

I also have a President, and I'm not a big fan of that model.

I'll stay with the Supreme ; )

Oh, too early in the morning for me. I've had a couple cups of coffee now my brain MAY be functioning better. You were talking casting reels? OK, it's a bit of a problem with Pflueger as they use the same name for both casting AND spinning - why, I don't know - and it you're not paying close attention.. ANYWAY, I have a dozen casting rods in my boat locker - two crankbait rods are paired with a REVO Winch (the best for crankbaits IMO), sitting on top of the others - yeah, Pflueger again, but I use the Patriarch and Patriarch XT (no longer in production - again I don't know why the XT is a fantastic reel).

Ok, the title said so. Don't mind me, I was right the first time, second guessed, screwed it all up and now I'm just going to mix a martini and forget the whole thing.
