Default Tournament win on Conesus Lake, NY 30 April 2011

I was helping the RIT College Bass Club out with their 2011 Kayak Qualifier Tournament on Conesus Lake, NY. I wasn't planning to compete, but the students insisted, so I agreed to enter.

I had fished there three times over the last week and had found a pattern - 10 fow off of secondary points on tubes. The pattern held and I caught this 20 inch Smallmouth within the first thirty minutes of the start of the tournament. The tournament was won by the angler with the longest bass. This was the longest bass. I only caught one other fish the rest of the tournament - a little chunk of a largemouth.

It was the first really nice weather we have had for fishing all year and water temps were in the low 50s, about 10 degrees lower than normal for this time of year.

I had a lot of fun with a great bunch of collegiate anglers...
