Default Florida Peacock Bass Fishing

I hade an amazing trip down to Florida over the first week of April. I booked with a guide service by the name Hawg Hunters Guides Service. The owner Frank Carbone set me up with a wonderful hotel in Ft. Lauderdale and sent me out with a seasoned guide by the name of Doug Harris with over 25 years of fishing experience.
Doug took me to a neighbor hood called little Havana in Miami, which made me a little skeptical because of the area and its rough appearance but that changed quickly as we launched the boat and quickly starting hooking into Snook. As the temperature warmed we stared to travel down the lagoon and into the neighbor hood canals where we starting hitting Peacock left and right. The water was clear and it was easy to spot the fish on the beds. We used a top water plug at first with hits often as the water warmed. Eventually we switched to shiners and a small weight to drop on their beds. I was amazed what strong fighters and how beautiful the Peacock bass are.

I would rate this trip, as an A+ Doug was an amazing guide with an excellent personality and a massive amount of knowledge of southern Florida bass fishing. The owner Frank was on top of the whole trip and the experience one of a kind. If you ever make it down to southern Florida I would recommend looking up Frank and have him send you out with Doug, you will not be disappointed.

Sounds like an awesome trip, but some pictures of those babies would put the nail in the coffin.
