Default July 13th Double Report

Tonight's crew was not well trained in casting. But by the end of the marathon of casting they improved incredibly well. They said Capt Mike why are you not fishing..well...I was guiding and pushing the boat around..then they insisted I fish. OK I picked up a popping frog and then I rolled snakehead over a bunch of pickle grass and it pulled off first cast. Then I landed a couple of big LGMouth. I felt bad just a wee bit..a really small wee bit..
They got the hang of casting and scored some nice chunky LGMouth and it was all good. The tide rolled in very fast and we watched the fish just fly by, back into the woods and back pockets. They ignored our baits so we followed them back and scored a few more just before dark.

Walk on tonight with a couple of TF''ers. HOT, HOT, HOT it was weatherwise.. I was already drenched in sweat as Capt Mike and I prepared the boats. Crews arrive, ribs and chicken consumed and off we went. Did I mention it was HOT? We picked up the first fish almost immediately...and that was it for a while. Reports from some bass fisherman were pretty much the same. Then, the tide came rolling in fast. We decided to go back into the pads fields early. (I saw no reason not to go in early as we were getting no love in the creek) As we drifted in with the tide, the clouds built a bit, giving us low light conditions, at least an hour or so earlier than it should have and boy did the fish respond. We got topwater toad and hollowbody hits for at least two hours straight. Just as it seemed like there'd be a lull, a nice bass would wake us up. A couple of good fisherman and a pretty darn good night in the end.
