Default Trolling Motor Question...

Hey guys, right now I have a 36lb. trolling motor on my Bass Tracker Pro 17. It clearly isnt big enough to push me on a windy day, and I need something bigger. I am wondering, what poundage could I possibly go with that will be able to get me through the windy days with ease?? Thanks!!

the biggest you can get and stay with 12 volts is 55lbs. i have a 43lb motorguide on my 19' G3 and it does good enough. now if you wanna talk 24 volt setup you can get one that'll be a problem in a no wake zone

Go with a 24 volt, will run alot longer and use less power to fight winds. I have a MK Maxxum 80lb and I love it

The good news is that, with that TM, you can't "run 'n gun". This means you're gonna learn to fish your water thoroughly and not make your backseater want to kill you.
If you DO upgrade, pretend you haven't most of the time.
