I have a few of the bluegill swimbaits, they are VERY realistic and have some solid action...however... the downside is that they are very heavy and cost $30/each.

i have one of the baby bass plastics. only (ha ha) $12. it looks really good in the water but i havn't fished it yet. my buddy was changing spots the other day with his just kinda hanging off the side of the boat and actually saw the fish come up from below and hit it. too bad he wasn't paying enough attention to close the deal

It's true. I wasnt actually hanging it off the boat not paying attention tho. The baby bass i had was not running true (it would flip over on its side). So i had took my pliers and bent the eye, tossed out just a handfull of line to see it run beside the boat, it ran true enough to call mr bass up from the depths for a quick hit. It was pretty cool watching it he just appeared out of no where from under the bait, took a quick swipe at it and went back down, never to be seen again.

I then lost the damn $12 sucker about 4 casts later.

Storm has the best bang for buck in my opinion. Take the treble hook off the bottom and you have a very realistic swimbait for under $2
