Quantum Hot Sauce Reviews

The Quantum Hot Sauce reel oil is specifically engineered for use on reel parts to provide longer casts and smoother operation. Its unique formula bonds to the metal surfaces to create a longer lasting lubrication that is more resistant to dirt a debris. Also known for it's bright red color that can easily be seen during application.

The best thing I have ever used to lube my reels was a product made to lube 1911 model 45 cal. pistols made by Bill Wilson. However, can't get it anymore. Hot sauce seems to be the next best thing. I prefer the grease to any reel manufacturer's product that I have tried. I use Shimano reels and prefer their oil for the bearings, but sometimes it won't stay where you put it. Hot sause oil seems to stay a little better. I recommend using only what you need to in order to get your bearings covered with a film of oil. Don't "soak" them. High RPM will fling this stuff out of the bearings if you put too much in them. Then you have to clean up where ever it goes inside your reel. After I lube a bearing with it, I touch the bearing dust seal with a q-tip to pull excess out. Only for an instant, as leaving the q-tip in place too long pulls too much oil out of the bearing.

Because I am from Northwest Ontario, Canada, I do not have many saltwater products for when I go fishing in Florida. My reels take a lot of abuse due to the saltwater and sand. Quantam hotsauce works perfectly when I clean my reels. The colour makes it a lot easier to apply and clean off if it gets in any wrong spots. I would definately recommend this product.

HotSauce is not so hot. I have a Quantum PT Tour that squealed out of the box. Used some good ole 3-in-1 oil on it and it hasn't squealed since. Do yourselves a favor and save your money.

Excelent product, I ever use it in my reels for 2 ó 3 times a year and when I go to fish my cast are very sweet and my reels are perfects to the battle.

Excellent product, last longer, and withstands all the pressure I put on a reel. I clean and lube all my reels at least once a month, this stuff sticks and outlast any other lube I have used also gives smoother action to any reel! The red is also great to let me know if I need to add more or not!

I service fishing reels by trade and get an inside look at 100's (even 1000's) of reels every year. I have to say that I am not a fan of the Hotsauce products. I understand Quantum's line of thinking, but there is an issue with their additives within the oil and grease. The room temperature viscosity is extremely low, which is fine, but something happens to this oil and grease at operating temperatures. Essentially, it flies off the bearing and gums up whatever it comes in contact with. Usually it is reacting with another lubricant within the reel (like drag grease or gear grease). I do believe that the product does what it is supposed to do, but I believe that using Hotsauce oil and grease will require the angler to double or even triple the amount of service on their reels. Without exception, every reel I have serviced that has used this product has twice the build up of surplus. Surplus is my term for oil and grease that has been thrown from the bearings and gears and is collecting in parts of the reel that it should not be. It would be a shame if all these problems are caused by the dye that makes it red, which I doubt it but it sure does make it easy to see what the angler is using for lube.

Short and sweet. I love it. I use it on all my reels. I clean and lube my reels about 3 times a year, sometimes more depending on use and if they take a swim. Quick and easy to use, the tip is perfect to get in anywhere you want. I also like the red color, no mistake where Ive put it.
