Any of y'all have any experience with these? I'm debating getting a couple but figured I'd ask the experts first.

Just bought two of them last week. Jury is still out. Did have a few short strikes at it. Probably throw them during my tournet this week. Chartreuse/white, chartreuse/orange. ???1/2 oz or 3/8 oz will have to look. 8)

I was watching Bill Dance use one. He said that it is very productive because of the extra noise produced.

I'm not an expert but I did better without the clacker. I can't wait to try the double bladed buzzbait. I was going to try the long stemmed buzz that BD uses but decided not to bite on that one.

Rebbasser, I have had the Hart brand buzzbaits with the clacker, but if there is algae growing, it will kill your buzzbait, the clacker is easy to foul up than a regular buzzbait.I hope this helps, I gotta run (stolen from Catbird) ;D P N J

i love the clacker buzzbaits better than any others.it is true that sometimes a regular buzz catches more fish but i find my biggest buzzbait fish come on the clacker. |

REB,
Never tried one, but cheese and clackers are pretty good when you are fishing. |

Sometimes I think the cheese done slid off the clacker.Ya ain't got both oars in the water if you know what I mean.It could also be like running down the lake with the big motor and your trolling motors still down. It kind makes you look goofy and all if you know what I mean not to mention a pain in the @ss getting the boat up on plane. ;D P N J

P & J,
Been there, done that more than once. I don't know why such a small appendage as a trolling motor can throw a huge wake over the bow of the boat and down on top of the passengers! JackL |

Jackl, I thought I was the only one who's ever done that. That ranks right up there with running down the lake with white caps on it.You set the speed exactly right so your boat is skimming over the oncoming waves in a smooth controlled ride, then all of a sudden out of nowhere there is that odd ball wave that you will spear and nearly drowns you while it almost wants to sink your boat. ;D P N J

Awww don't worry about trying to get on plane with the trolling motor down. It's not a big problem until you have it down when you're driving the boat onto the trailer. (No, I've never done it, but have seen the results.)
I like the clackers too. If I find one that has a clacker, I'll buy it. If it doesnt' I'll bend the blade down until it clacks on main wire. |

Boogerman makes a buzzbait that clacks when the blade strikes the head. You can bend the blade out so that it wont clack or bend it back in to make it clack.

I don't like the buzzbaits with clackers, if I want to make extra noise- I just bend the blade til it hits the wire or the head of the bait. ;D

I've experienced the same with the Booyah's I bought. If you want one to try PM me your address and I'll send ya one. I don't use them anymore at all. Heck just add a bell if you want more noise. Lizards |
