Worst joke I ever read

I like humor as much as anyone, more than many probably. That said there is nothing funny about a dead baby, that's a line no one that has ever had (not to mention lost) a child would cross. That is the bottom of the pit of BAD taste and while many "comedians" don't hesitate to use offensive humor, even make a reputation on it, it really doesn't fit in the spirt of this website. When you go to see a "commedian" you probably know what the material will be like, and have an idea what to expect. Even with the TITLE of the original post - I ddin't expect what I read.

I'm not throwing anyone under the bus, they can post what they want and by the same token those that may be offended have the right to say so also. My original response was tempered - if you can believe that - and I'm done commenting on the most poor sense of judgement* I've seen here yet. The mistake has been acknowledged, I think he sincerly regrets it, and that's acceptable for me to move on.

*other, possibly equally, offensive commentary has been posted - I myself am probably guilty - BUT, those comments I remember (at least on my part) were intentional and specifically directed. I do not belive the offensive nature of the original posting was intentional, so I classify it as an "error of judgement", not an intentional attempt to offend anyone. Unfortunate.

I'm not holding anything against joe. I think he thought it was funny and appropriate for this forum. I didn't and felt compelled to point out that the joke was not appropriate for this forum. When you post a joke on a forum, you have to understand that every one who ever comes here can see it. While the most active members of this site may be adults, I also know that we have several young members and quite posibly the children of our adult members who browse the posts. We also have some female members who may easily be offended by what some males may find funny. This site doesn't have active moderators. That being said, I think we all need to police ourselves and think twice about what we post before it's set in stone.

Joe, thanks for the perfect apology, just as you have the right to post IMO a distasteful joke, everyone else has the right to post their reaction to it. Neither side has gone overboard to make their side of the case so lets just leave it at that and move on.

OK, I'm not going to reply to everyone but I am going to PUBLICLY state that I am HORRIFIED to what pain I may have caused Dan and Louanne!
I DID NOT find the joke funny and may have been more horrified than most of you.
Hence the knee jerk reaction.
I even had forgotten ALL ABOUT IT until......almost a week after it was dead and burried....BAM...right back at me.
