I recently bought an eagle FishEasy 240 fishfinder, no so much for showing the fish but to see what the bottom looks like, hoping to find some nice honeyholes. Anyway, the suction cup transducer does not stay on the boat more then a minute - I think it has to do with the boat paint. I fine sanded the area, but to no avail. Does anyone else with a portable unit have this problem? I'm really mad about this, because I feel like I wasted $170 and now have to return it. |

We always take a hose clamp and put it on the bottom area of the trolling motor, then mount the unit towards the nose of the boat, and also will mount one on the back bottom of the boat near the big motor, and put that unit up by the steering wheel, you can watch depth as you cruise, or turn it towards you when fishing, its nice to use both of them when locating fish or baitfish and structure 8)

never liked the suction cup mount my self. i am guessing this is a portable fish finder. i would get a transome mount transducer my self. i have mine afixed to the trolling moter with a chunk of threaded rod 3 nylon incased nuts. and 2 simple pipe clamps i have never knocked it lose yet in 3 years.. zooker

Mount it to a broom handle and clamp it to the boat, if you want to maintain it being "Portable" The suction cups are bad. Lizards |
